 V1.06 Release Notes! (released 1/7/98, 5:30pm)

The day the web site went online, i made a few changes to x-link, so here they are..

   * some minor modification to the cursor hilighting in the memory editor
   * Active code management, now instead of just viewing a list of active codes, you can now edit them
   * Auto setup, if X-Link has been run for the first time and fails to negotiate comms (this is
most likely due to incorrect parrallel port settings) it will now transport you to the preferences
        sceen..
   * fixed a rare graphical glitch in the memory card manager (occured if timed out on reading card data)
   * fixed a japanese character set bug on download cheats which cause a crash (XTERMINATOR ONLY)
   * modified the download image function, now faster.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 V1.07 Release Notes (Release 2/7/98. 5:30pm)

   * Included Dos4GW into the archive, oops!, this is a freeware program and is not the property of FCD
   * Cleaned up comms stability slightly.. some error handling was a bit stupid in places.. now cleaned up..
   * Fixed a `Playstation not in game` bug with the global playstation freeze (F12 in any main menu)
   * Added a ROM upgrade version check, will now warn you if you are uploading an OLDER ROM onto your cartridge
   * Added a FIX for 24bit (FMV) graphics grabs, if your FMV appears in weird colours (E.G. reds and blues are
swapped) then you can re-allign this in the Screen Viewer on the Xplorer, and XLink will retain the
allignment, this is not a fault of X-Link or Xplorer..
   * Fixed some miscellaneous minor bugs in the ROM (Comms related)
   * Added a freeze frame options (F5 on any main menu) , now its now easier to grab frames from FMV footage
       using frame by frame advancement..
   * Added a Grabs and ROMS folder, just tidies up the directories, the Grabs folder is for PCX screen grabs,
and the ROMS folder is where X-Link puts and gets ROMS..
   * Added a ROM Backup facility when upgrading your ROM, this is handy if you forget to backup your cheats
and destroy them by upgrading your cartridge, to get your LAST ROM back you just upgrade with BACKUP.FCD
   * ROM`s file requester now isnt extension dependant, it will just automatically fix it (E.G. you can now type
       just XTENG instead of XTENG.FCD)
   * Automatic ROM Upgrade, now X-Link is intelligent enough to automatically update your cartridge if you
have a newer ROM (it will prompt you for changes beforehand!)
   * Fixed a glitch in PSX (memory card) file descriptions

V1.07b Release Notes (Released (Japan only) 3/7/98, 10:30am)

   * Added some minor changes to the japanese version
   * Slightly modified some GUI menu stuff

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 V1.08 Release Notes (Released 17/07/98, 5:30pm)

   * Improved the GUI slightly (again) :)
   * Now requests for PSX Re-negotiation if X-Link fails on startup..
   * Resets negotiated status when ROM upgraded, this forces xlink to re-examine cartridge parameters when it
        has been upgraded
   * Only does a timeout once if X-Link fails on initialisation of the comms (less complaining :)
   * many minor improvements to trainer (GUI Changes, active codes clearer, optimised the basic list viewer (the
LARGE Possibilities one, now faster and glitch fixed, use ALT-PGUP and ALT-PGDOWN to jump 5000 +/-
        possibilities)
   * Added NOP Handling functions (block NOP selection & Jump to next NOP) in the disassembler..
   * Added a CODES folder, this is where all codes are saved to..
   * Added ACG System, this is FAR too large to comment on here, read the DOCS included for ACG help..
This also is a modular system and new modules will be added with future updates of X-Link..
   * Added a multihelp bar system in places, this explains menu options at the bottom..
   * Notification for PlayStation Freeze/Unfreeze (tell you below the X-Link header bar)..
   * added TAB to skip between the 2 main menus..
   * Fixed many minor bugs..
   * Added a SAVE codes option in the active codes manager.. (via trainer & mem editor)
   * changed the main menus a bit, all advanced features are in the 2nd menu..
   * Added a reset notify, now if you reset your playstation, X-Link is intelligent enough to
re-initialise things like memory cards, this before caused a fatal comms error and a playstation
crash when re-reading memory cards after a reset during X-Link execution..
   * tons more stuff (which i dont have time to comment on :)

V1.08 notes : sorry again i havent added a breakpoint editor, we have had no requests for this feature yet
so i havent added this to my list of 1million other priorities..

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 V1.09 Release Notes (07/08/98, 5:40pm)

    * Many graphical improvements.. (yeah i know, not very important)
    * Fixed glitch where the game content of a memory card save appeared to be 2 chars shorter in the PSX window
    * Changed some keys around in the memory card manager to seem more intuitive
    * Added a default string when saving memory card files, grabs the games contents as a best guess default
save name for your PSX save.
    * Breakpoint editor in both memory editor and disassembler
    * Trainer can now search for ranges of values
    * Trainer is now both 8 bit (3xxxxxxx codes) and 16 bit (8xxxxxxx codes)
    * Can now select Starting and Ending addresses for the trainer (part of the user preferences)
    * Added a [...] Column in the value history section of the trainer, selecting this as a code will prompt
	for a value.
    * Fixed a bug where the number of history columns sometimes appeared to be incorrect
    * Fixed Hi/Low values in SLIP code generator, also added a Delay variable there now..
    * Added MOD code generator.. works similiar to the rayman super code we have, have fun and enjoy!
    * Tidied up XLinks external files (now in ./XLINKBIN )
    * Monitor and Freeze frame can now have update/speed changed in user preferences
    * Trainer uses an adaptive databurst cache, sped up basically!
    * Added fast shortcut in main menus, F1 = Re-negiotate comms, this re-sets up the comms and xplorer
    * Added an ESC key when making the first trainer pass (incase it was done by mistake)
    * Visual difference for active codes when viewing them in memory editor (between 8 and 3 codes)
    * Active Codes manager now displays active NOPS also
    * Trainer History is now in hexadecimal and not decimal as before, look toward the bottom of that window
for a decimal convertion of the currently selected (by cursor) value
    * Added a fast memory card IO system , memory card manager is massively faster now..
    * Changed some of my wait routines, previously they used vertical blanks (monitor refreshes) to pause
in monitor mode, this didnt work correctly under a DOS console under win95 (non-maximised), now
        uses proper clock cycles
    * Added a `W` Edit key for code history in Trainer, just go upto the value/code your interested in, in the
possibility list and press W to edit/view/monitor it in memory..
    * Added a fast shortcut (on main menus) , hexadecimal<>decimal calculator
    * Search option in memory editor is now case insensitive (will now match eg.. `Paused` with `PaUsED`)
    * Fixed bug in xplorer ROM, where trainer codes couldnt be activated correctly by XLink..

 V1.091 Release Notes (13/10/98)

Been really busy with other projects so ive not had the time to majorly update xlink yet, development
for Xlink V1.10 (Xlink PRO), is well underway soon so look at for that also..

	* Fixed some glitches in the trainer, stupid me mixed up the byte ordering in the trainer in places :)
	* Level 3 Comms protocol, this contains a 100% stable comms algorythm and is not subject to random
		timeouts (due to timing anomalies)..
	* Fixed Breakpoints, and changed the layout.
	* Simple command line subset of instructions, mainly used for development purposes for executing
user made programs.. type XLINK ? at the dos prompt to find out more (advanced users only)
This is very sparse at the moment, Xlink 1.10 should have MUCH more features (full developer
  		support)
	* Fixed a few small bugs in the memory card manager
	* Fixed a bug in the cheat decompiler
	* Re-wrote the upload cheats routine (the cheat compiler), this is now a LOT LOT more stable
	* Added XLink logo display on startup
	* Fixed memory editor memory map stuff (can now jump to bfc00000!!), also some other changes..

I would like to thanks some peoples support for this version with their suggestions and observations..
  Much appreciated!

ROM INCOMPATIBILITY : last minute change, some functions WILL NOT work with this version of x-link due to
a ROM held back in development... (not my fault :)
